* The ONE Thing that makes the sales

Any thoughts then peeps?

Is it the traffic, the email follow ups, the fancy
graphics, or the latest super sizzling software?

Nope.

Nor is it the latest flash banners or slick webdesign.
It’s not the gimmicks the headers, the entertaining or
funny video’s either.

When trying to make sales or get sign ups from a website -

The ONE thing that matters more than any other is…….

The WORDS !

The right words on a page will do all the convincing of a
customer, that they will benefit from, and find value in
cl’cking that submit button!
And you WILL make sales and sign ups.

So many people seem to put emphasis on way too many other
things ,
But if your sales message sucks – so will everything else!

So how do you go about writing good copy ?

I’ve seen so many conflicting offers and advice, that I
thought I’d share some resources and some
tips.
After all we could ALL do with help in this area ….

But do we know where to look?
I’m going to stay fairly focused for a change, ;)

So I’m going to pop some resource links and a brief
explanation in next…

Then I’ll give you some free but Valuable tips to
consider next time you’re writing out a sales page.

*Resource Numbers 1 – 5

#Resource Number One:

Hire someone – OK, I know that was a bit vague, but I
don’t know what your budget is ? ;)
You can get the likes of Michel Fortin and Dan Lok for
anywhere from $5,000 to $25,000 PLUS Profit Share
for a single sales page.

Or you can look for less well know names in forums you
frequent who do a good job anywhere from $500 – $2,000

Personally I’ve wrote copy for a few people and taken part
ca$h and favours, or goods
(graphics, programming software etc.)

So do see who’s willing to negotiate. Ask around in forums etc.

#Resource Number Two:

Buy some great software (top end) and learn to use it to do
your own. Michael Fortin and John Tanner have just released
‘ScribeJuice’
And all reports are that it’s one heck of a resource.
I’m ordering it myself this week to grab the bonus offers!

Sidenote:I now have it … it’s good but doesn’t write the
page for you…. That said – the bonuses….It’s worth buying
for the access to a $497 a year site for a month!
I’ve found all sorts in there!

I’ll tell you upfront it’s $197 – so if that doesn’t frighten
you off ,
Go take a look at everything it can do!

A much cheaper and easier way to crank out hot sales
letters for your product without spending weeks or
months learning to be a copywriter.

If you haven’t got around to reading it yet…. do !
I really went into some detail on the psychology involved -
but explained it all in simple terms for anyone to understand.

Read it – Study the examples, and put it into practice

* My Tips on the One Thing

People, allow me to introduce you to a lovely
salesmans assistant.
AIDA, as she is known in sales circles, is a lady who will
help you get the sale!

Attention
Interest
Desire
Action

You may even have heard of her before,
Here’s where some people seem to go slightly off course
with her.

First thing is to Grab the readers Attention, I think may
people realise this and do make an effort, But – often
we see the same old headlines and adapt them to try and
grab Attention, fair enough just make sure it’s also
related and not totally misleading as so many can be.

They then go on to mention the problems their target faces,
or tell a story of what happened to them and how they
overcame their issue with xyz product – thereby
generating Interest

Here’s where I see many going wrong…. the D for
Desire
What I see a lot of is a list of bullets of features of
their product, And it’s easy to understand why a creator
would think his features are the big selling point of his
product…..

But they’re not!
The Desire for the buyer is meant to Build their Desire to
wanting the product.
So don’t focus on features – focus on benefits

That said I believe it would help to expand on that further
- as anyone who’s never sold could be forgiven for believing
that for example “push a button and get 1000 hot keywords
instantly” is a benefit….. It’s not - it’s still just a feature!

To truly build desire for a product and arrive at the real
benefit here’s my tip –

Write your benefit then tell it to yourself…. if you say
‘Ah Right, that’s great’, then you may have a benefit.
If on the other hand you can say – ‘So What’ – you’re
still at another feature.

So the real benefit of buying xyz isn’t to generate 1000
hot keywords - it’s to allow for quality time to spend
with your kids in the park on sunday,
Or to maximise your incom’e potential by allowing for
more time to promote or send out JV proposals etc….

Time Saving is nearer the benefit.
So Desire is to create the desire for your product, the
What’s In It For Me … why I must have this now…etc.

Then obviously the A is for Action, which is your call to
action – why now this minute, and again a sustainable
reason as to why now. And do be careful to justify the
reasons…try not to ‘pretend’ it’s limited if it’s not etc.

So that’s AIDA, She can be a very helpful lady, but as
with all Ladies – she must be treated with respect ;)

Just before I finish up ……
Another old saying among salespeople is to
“Sell the Sizzle – Not the Steak”

That may remind you of benefits …… no one buys a steak
because it’s a big lump of dead flesh that will fill your
stomache….
…..they buy the aroma, the tender succulent
morsels practically melting in your mouth, that gorgeous
sound of the steak Sizzling on the hot plate making you
saliva at the very thought of cutting into it, etc. etc.

I do hope my introducing Aida helps you and gives you food
for thought next time you’re writing your own copy,
be it a sales page, a promo email or an auction listing.

* Not sure about the Blog – You tell me!

Here’s where you can help me out,
Do drop me a line and let me know if having my Ramblings
online is of use to you.

I had a lovely subscriber Robin ( www.robinskeen.com )
play with my blog, and due to my techy inability loads of
things went wrong (all my fault)…lol

Anyway Robin did such a good job – the blog seems to have
been picked up by all sorts of places.

The downside for me is twofold ….
1, I have had people unsub and leave my mailings with their
reasons being that I deliver Too Much mail. (‘cos I
send out the blog update in case people didn’t get the
email)
2, Due to being picked up – I’m now getting so much
sp’a'm at it – it takes me an hour a day to delete them
all.

So what do I do?
Do I keep placing these Rambles online but somewhere else
without comment ability?
Or do I just send the emails and hope everyone has
whitelisted me?

Another option would be to place my Rambles online and just
email the link to read them inthe emails.

I’d appreciate your feedback on this one
….. do let me have your thoughts..

* Online Gaming – update

I made a mention of this last time round ….

A niche that is growing at 4 times the rate of the
internet !!

Hey enough sales talk – like I said, you
may not be into it – but do feel FREE to register for the
FREE info and decide for yourself.

A quick update for you ,
It really is growing at quite a rate, I’ve now introduced
36 people myself and have 79 in my group, with very little
promotion. (Gone up again since writing!!)

It does seem that because it is of major interest in the
USA and legal in 41 states – it will do really well.

I did say before – it’s not for everyone – but do check it
out fully
before you dispell it ;)

    What can we say randy.

    It seems that the spammers get better and better at plying there
    trade and making life hell for any of us.

    I personally enjoy your blog information, whether it is in email
    form or by visiting the blog itself. Having the blog is obviously
    a good thing in my opinion, because it allows some form of
    exposure to get people to visit that may not be on your list.

    Placing your ramblings on line may be your best bet, Just give a
    rough outline in the email about the content and then let people
    decide whether they click the link or not.. I would always try
    to find the time to visit the link as i do with reading your
    emails. I find the content quite usefull and trust your
    reputation wholeheartedly…

    Here’s to your future ramblings….

    I do appreciate all my readers.
    But typically – I had to delete 27 ads for sex and drugs sites before I get to see your post this morning….lol

    It’s been a busy week copywriting for others, so I’ve not had chance to consider all my options yet.
    But I’ll tell you as soon as I’ve sorted what I’m going to do :)
