Introduction to Randy Smith
An Intro to Randy’s Ramblings
Hi, and thanx for stopping by
Randy Smith here, and this is my blog.
(I figure you guessed that already) …lol
It’s one of the ways I stay in touch with the great people
I’ve met on my internet travels. Another is through my mailing
list which I’d love you to join if you haven’t already
RandolfSmith.com is the home of my ‘infamous Randy’s Ramblings’
So called because I do have a tendancy to ‘Ramble’ on.
That said – it’s a hype free marketing zone like no other!
You’ll often find me showing you the copy & paste emails that some
marketers would like me to send to my lists – and then giving my
honest opinions of what I really think and whether it would be a good
purchase, and for whom!.
Another feature you’ll see repeated is my popular sign off:
“As always – only spend your ca$h on things that
WILL help you (Not the stuff that Might One Day!)
As ever I really mean it when I say -
Here’s hoping you’re …..
Loving Life, Living it with Passion, And Passing it on!”
I’ve had numerous comments from readers who appreciate
the advice of ONLY investing in products or services that will help
your own marketing efforts (too many times marketers seem to care
more about the short term profit of their promotions, rather than the
long term benefit to their subscribers….in my opinion anyway!)
And the passion part is just something I feel strongly about.
If you can ‘Really’ love what you do – it’s just not work, and never having
to work makes life great fun to live
====
OK – on to a little ramble.
I thought I’d tell you a little about me so you know where I’m
coming from.
Firstly – This post is an update (as of August 2008 with further edits since)-
so much has changed since I first started this blog, it really needed
updating…lol
Here goes:
Name – Randy Smith, Age 45 (mental age – I still think I’m in my twenties)
Sunday name – Randolf
I live in the north of England with my Partner (Sara) and her son
(Cameron aged 10 in september),
[Edit]
- as of september 08 we are no longer a couple, just friends who live together.
(and I’m happy to say that friendship has flourished with only minor
and resolved issues)
I have 4 grown daughters from a previous marriage who no longer
live at home – and two of those have given me three grandsons …
(even though I am no way old enough or responsible enough to be
a grandad!!!!)
I also have a wonderful relationship with Rachel, the sunshine of my life
who just fits into it perfectly. Basically – life is great!
OH – As I’m in England – please allow for time zone and spelling
differences
I’ve been in direct sales for 20+ years, and did very well from it.
In income terms I would have beeen considered very successful.
I then had my own retail furniture outlet and was MD of the company.
Unfortunately that business collapsed in september 2006 and lead
to me losing everything through bankruptcy.
I’ve been online since around 2000/2001 and failed miserably
for years….lol
(Kept falling for the get rich quick type schemes)
I had a hypnosis site for a while back then, and eventually changed
to a Poetry site. I never made any major money from the hypnosis
site, but I did start to make an income from adsense on  the free poems
site. I got it up to a PR4 and 1000 hits a day – then google banned me
- due to an overly grateful customer clicking way too many ads …lol
That put an end to that sites profitability!…lol
I had just about given up online when I was referred to yet another
MLM type program.
(I’ve tried around 30 or more over the years…lol)
I joined, and having shown it to a few friends – I was in profit my first month.
Then I started promoting it online….. and it grew to a level of around
$1000 a month. I needed tools and resources to promote it which lead to
me becoming more active in online marketing.
I built a small list and started to recommend some of my resources to the list.
Noticing that a lot of folks ‘new’ to the net looking for ‘cheaper than guru’
products and resources, lead to the creation of my MonthlyBargains site…
and another list…. By then I had some understanding of html so I started to
build my own sites.
These have been growing steadily since, and the rest as they say is history!
I’ve also made connections with a few good (ethical) and professional
online marketers whom I can get help and advice from, that I can trust… lol
After a policy change in the program that got me into monthly profit, the
income from that dropped to a few hundred a month. But by then I was
beginning to make regular money from some of my own sites.
That has lead to a good few failures and some great successes.
I now have numerous websites, I’ve created products of my own, and
I write salescopy for a select few marketers from time to time.
You can find links to some of my sites in the margins
(That initial program eventually had another policy change with
completely obilierated my income from it and I recently Quit and
stopped promoting it at all)
After being motivated and encouraged by the results of my own
efforts, from initially earning in excess of $100 and seeing it steadily
rise, I made the decision to keep at it and took a part time stint as a
DJ (and old hobby) to allow me to concentrate on my online activities.
The DJing finished at the end of June 08 due to the club needing to
cut back on the cash it was spending, but fortunately I’m at the point
where I now earn enough to keep Sara happy with my contribution
towards the household expenses and still enjoy life.
(Sara told me I’d have to go get a ‘job’ if I didn’t make enough…lol)
From being what I termed a ‘very experienced newbie’, I would suppose
I’ll have to admit that I do seem to be able to find my way around
these days. Don’t get me wrong – I’m still useless at so many techy
things…. and even when I do get my head around some stuff – it changes
so quickly.
But I do have a good few online friends to whom I can turn for
answers to anything I get really stuck with. So that, I suppose is
why I too like helping others where I can. (and naturally hope to keep
earning a living in the meantime).
To quote Zig Ziglar -
“You can have everything you want in life – if you just
help enough other people get what they want.â€
So right up front I’ll tell you….
I don’t plan on making hundreds of thousands a month.
I enjoy my family time as well as my online connections, and if I can
keeping bringing in enough to continue enjoying what I do, I’ll be happy.
My goals are to keep making a full time living and see it gradually
increase to somewhere beyond comfortable…. but at the same
time to continue feeling passionate about what I do.
I don’t want it to become a ‘job’. I want it to stay fun, make more
great friends, and keep loving my family life too.
That sums up a little about me, I look forward to getting to
know you, learning more and hopefully being of some assistance
in areas where I can be.
So here’s hoping I can provide you with some useful
information as I ramble…
And more importantly:
Here’s hoping you’re …
Loving Life, Living it with Passion, And Passing it on!
Til next time

Randy – that is such a great quote and is exactly my own feelings.
Enjoying the blog – and speak soon.

Hi Randy,
A very enjoyable Blog but quick question: What is the certificate you are proudly holding in the photo on your Blog header? Sadly it is a bit too small to read on my screen.
Keep up the excellent work!
Ian.
Hi Ian,
I must get some new photo’s done…lol
I just answered the same question in the MoreMonthly community forum to much ridicule and joking….lol
Of all the plaques and certificates I have from my sales career – or even one from mensa, I have to put that photo on my sites…..
(Shh… it’s a certificate I got form completing a course in Hypnosis – totally unrelated to anything, and I only studied the subject because I am so nosey and insisted on knowing how the heck it worked!… $2,500 dollars later my curiosity was satisfied…lol)

Now Randy, we were not laughing AT you. Personally, I think you ought to change your picture to the one from Brit pack. You know, the one with you holding a brew. I thought it was a GOOD picture! Seriously!
[...] First – before anything else, and in case I forget to mention it. I’ve updated my introduction post on this blog. [...]
Hi Randy,
Great to hear a successful internet marketer making a commitment to family, and loving it too! My goals are very much the same as yours, so it’s great to see an established IMer with similar ambitions and values. Keep up the great work!
Mike
http://www.startmakingonlineprofit.com
Thanks Mike,
You do realise we make a little less than the other marketers who are at it 24/7 and even in airport lounges….LOL
(But then again – we also get to enjoy ‘real’ family time… including days where we just go off for the day because it’s nice!)
Randy
http://www.RandolfSmith.com
Now that’s something you don’t read every day- a top marketer saying that others earn more than he does! But the only thing that matters is that you are achieving your goals (including financial ones) and enjoying life. I have never envied anyone whose sole aim in life is to make as much money as possible (especially if they have to work round the clock or in airport lounges to do it- lol), but I definitely envy the man who can decide to spend a day out of with his family, leave the work behind, but still make as much money as he wants… I hope to be able to make the same kinds of spur-of-the-moment decisions with my daughter very soon! I bet your son loves being able to take-off for the day with Dad!
Mike
http://www.startmakingonlineprofit.com
I guess it just boils down to what makes people happy Mike.
In my sales career I did the 14 hour days and pulled in a very high income – but it cost me in so many other ways!
One day I guess I just decided enough was enough – the cash only brought happiness to the tax man…lol
So I worked out what I needed to cover my basic costs and be happy.
Don’t get me wrong – more income is always a goal…. but no longer at the expense of living an enjoyable life.
Even at 45, I’ve had friends who did nothing but work all the hours to ‘one day’ be able to sit back….. unfortunately – some are now sitting back for eternity and will never again spend time with the people that matter.
We all have to go sometime… but I intend to have some fun before my time is up!
So I agree – if making millions makes people happy – good luck to them.
But for me – being comfortable and loving the experience of living is my priority.
Randy
http://www.MoreMonthly.com
I couldn’t agree more, and I couldn’t have said it any better …
What I’m hearing from you is that financial success is possible, and that you’re achieving it, but not at any cost. Fair comment?
Frankly, anyone who has worked with the likes of John Thornhill has a success record that is second to none…
It’s great to see that you and all the other ethical marketers are doing great business- that’s very encouraging for everyone who wants to do internet marketing the right way: bringing useful products, services and information to people without hype and without scams.
Cheers
Mike
Hi Randy
I too also wondered what the certificate was – so that’s that cleared up
Dan
Hi Randy,
I just took the time to read your blog post,Intro to Randy. I have been a subscriber of your’s for well over a year now.
I thought I knew all about you as a fellow marketer and after reading your bio post, I’m even more impressed at all you have accomplished in such a short period of time.
Your back ground you described is very much like my own. I myself have 4 children, 1 boy and 3 girls with 3 wonderful grand daughters.
I have spent the last 15+ years, putting my kids through college to ensure they will have a great future in their chosen carrers.
My son is now a doctor of radiology, and all 3 daughters are nurses in different medical areas.
My goal now is to create my own, career working for myself in the internet marketing field. I have made great progress in the last year, 2 web-sites and my blog.
I can honestly say that your many answers to my questions, the advice and suggestions have kept me moving forward in my marketing quest.
You have become one of my most treasured resources, just the comfort knowing if I get stumped on anything you will always come through with the answers I need to get past any hurdles I encounter.
Your down to earth work ethics,(helping others to achieve success)say’s it all about who you really are. This is a classic example of Synergy at work one of our universal laws.
One thing is for sure you are successful, not only as a marketer but also as a man of character and honesty.
I will always highly recommend you to anyone I feel needs your help and advice. Keep doing what your doing, because you are truly making a difference for all.
Never stop Rambling…
Speaking of rambling, I think I’ll end this with one of your favorite quote’s that I think says it all:
Here’s hoping you’re …
Loving Life, Living it with Passion, And Passing it on!
Kindest Regards,
William

Hi Randy,
Your blog and comments above are without question very refreshing. I am in a similar situation with regards to personal life, and I agree wholeheartedly with the view about getting the work / life balance.
Sometimes when I see other IM’ers going on video preaching about the amount of money they have made on this or that, I actually feel sorry for them, because they see money as their God and all too often that is their only tangible perception.
(I acknowledge that some of them are simply trying to justify the fact that they are successfull and that other IM’ers should follow them and be sucessful etc… but sometimes I think that they just like to hear the sound of their own voices what we refer to here in N Ireland as “bumming and blowing”.). enough already.
Sure it is good to be ambitious and sucessful, but lets all do it well, without ramming it down peoples throats.
I believe that there are more and more of us sucessful IM’ers actually do have a decent work / life balance, and realise that we should all be spending more time with those that really matter to us.
As regards the ‘paying it forward’ model, yes I believe that it is often best to present opportunities to people, and highlighting how it can change or improve their lifestyle, and then letting the person decide for themselves what course of action is right for them at that time.
Anyways, keep up the rants and ramblings and best wishes to you and all your readers.
Good Luck
John

Thanks for the comments William & John.
I really appreciate them.
(It helps me justify my approach on the days when I think no one cares and the hype merchants are winning…lol)
And William – sorry I haven’t had time to sort a paypal video yet… I’m still waiting to see if you get skype installed to talk you through it.
Randy
Very nicely done Randy,
I have sorta kinda been following you for a couple of years now. You are my kind of guy. Thank you for being an ensign for us all. And thank you for the sincerity you offer in helping when needed. It very much like a breath of fresh air or a drink of cool clear water.
What goes around comes around. I know your rewards will be plentiful.
Beautiful family.
Hi Randy,
There are very few marketers whom I trust and respect. You are one of them.
Don’t get me wrong. There are loads of very good marketers who are extremely good at what they do – and that is to make money. However, once they have emptied your wallet you are no use to them whatsoever.
Occasionally, there are some marketers who really care about people and those around them which brings to mind a quote:
“We make a living from what we get, we make a life from what we give”
You are an inspiration to us all.
Thanks Randy,
Regards,
Gary
Thanx for the intro, Randy and I like your picture.

I really love your work of course when you say everything about your life, your work and tips to all the marketers that interested to learn more online. I enjoy reading yours!
But what I really impressed is when you put the quote by Zig Ziglar -
“You can have everything you want in life – if you just
help enough other people get what they want.â€
You blown me off. I can’t argue more. That’s the right mind when we are trying to achieve success in anything we do!
For sure I will come back soon!

Hi Randy,
Thanks for the gifts and all the good information. I am going to enjoy and grow my business with the articles you post. I am looking forward to the next e-mail. Thanks again!
Thanks again for all the positive encouragement people
It’s nice to know that folks are moving on in their own endeavours, and that I’m helping in some small way.
(even nicer to know people actually visit and read my blog….lol)
Seriously – thanks for posting your comments
Randy
Randy, you are doing things the right way… great to see a marketer who follows what he teaches… great personality and freebies and content…
glad to be associated
see you again soon
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
Thanks Buddy
Just what I needed after dealing with a support ticket from a Moron using bad language and pathetic grammar to claim a $9 refund……
Why these types ever think they’ll be a success when I clearly offer a guarantee that requires only a polite email asking for a refund is beyond me. I guess some schools still aren’t managing to teach manners or written English….lol
Great to hear from you mate. And I’m glad to know marketers like you
Randy
Hi Randy,
That is a really detailed history of your life! It gives a great insight into a real IM who is not afraid to lay it out for all to see.
I like the link to GiveAway of the Day! It is a nice touch and keep fresh content on your pages too.
I hope to read more about your successes in the future.
Michael.
Hi Randy
I always speak my mind – gets me into a lot of trouble but hat the heck!
I also just want to make enough money to enjoy life more while I still can. I don’t need a fancy car – don’t drive.
Would like to get my sister private health care if I could.
Love the Far East so would like to go back there again.
Love the free advice for which I thank you loads and will repay in part by using your links when I can sign up for my website and autoresponder.
Till next time
Dee
Hi Michael & Dee,
Thanks for the comments
And sorry it took so long to reply – I’ve only been answering support tickets while I’ve been on holiday…lol
Hope to see more of you both soon.
