My first post since I got back from Bristol!
Guess what – I’m still going through emails and feeling
somewhat lost as to my priorities! (Laugh)

As my readers (like You) are still at the top of my list,
I’ve put other stuff to get done on to a list and figured
I’d write to you first.

(So it may not be too great a Ramble until I get back
into the swing of things….lol)

=====

* Bristol Event Sleep Deprivation

As you’re probably aware – I’ve been to an event (hehe)

I set off at 11ish Thursday morning and got back late
Sunday evening.

Fortunately I had some company on the long drive down.
It’s around 5 or 6 hours from my place to the event!

I drove as far as York and met up with John Reed, who has
been around a long while now – but finally got what I’m
sure will be a valuable resource, up and running at
http://major-reviews.com/

We then travelled down to the event together and shared a
room (that way John could help wake me for breakfast after
my hour or so sleep each day)

The hotel was very nice, if rather pricey for a Northerner.
$9 for a sausage butty and $8 for a single Vodka are twice
what we pay up here!!!

That said – as soon as we arrived I started seeing familiar
faces around the bar – so naturally I only started drinking
in order to network ;)

If you’ve read my previous adventures at the britpack event
in 07, – I think it would be easier to just say…

I did a lot of networking again…
(they forced the alcohol into me!… Honest)

So yeah – Every night was similar and I’m still amazed at just
how many flaming double sambuca’s tequila’s pernod’s bacardi’s
(I hate bacardi!! – yuk) and various other concoctions, all these
fulltime marketers can knock back – AND still talk shop!!…lol

It really was a great weekend, and It genuinely felt like I was
meeting up with old friends I hadn’t seen in a while.

I guess that’s the sort of bond you develop with people who have
similar interests and understand exactly what you’re talking about
when referring to a heap of IM terms.

Other great advantages of having these guys as friends are the
amount of help and support we all offer each other – right
through to the latest newbie just starting out – who can gather
and learn more from a half hour chat with an experienced marketer,
that he could probably learn from a $200 course or ebook!

And that’s before we even mention the confidential aspects of knowing
about so many exciting products that are in development.
(I will say this much – there are a lot of people REALLY raising the bar
in the quality & simplicity of products due out later this year!)

As for the actual seminars:
Oh yeah – nearly forgot – there were speakers everyday giving some
absolutely great talks about their areas of expertise!

In fact – I have to say Robert Puddy really does do a great job of
only having speakers who are prepared to share a heap of info so
valuable, that it would be fair to say that each speaker individually
covered the price of the event with JUST what they shared!!

So with the networking til 6am ish, then breakfast at 8.30 and
the seminars around 9….. Plus being dragged away to fit in a
couple of small interviews …
(which still amazes me that anyone would want to interview me!)
You’ll hopefully understand why I’m not quite back into a routine yet :)

I do have some great resources to share with you from conversations
I’ve had, but I’ll save the bulk those for another time.

Plus I want to get this out to you today just to let those who
keep asking that I am still alive….lol
(I’ve just had my own Northallerton Meet up, and around 2000 emails
to get through, not that there are too many requiring replies… phew!
- before getting back into my routines – so I will answer
emails, it just might take a few days to catch up)

I think I mainly wanted to stress the HUGE advantages of attending
these events and building relationships with other marketers.

It all starts with popping into forums regularly and getting to know
people – not just from a point of view of getting help and questions
answered, but actually making friends!
(Don’t forget my forum included with www.MoreMonthly.com is a great
place to start, as well as Robert Puddys ForumKnowHow)

Then when you finally get to meet these guys and gals at events -
it’s just so much easier to want to help them and for them to help you.

So please do try to ignore anything you may hear about the copulas
amounts of beverages people go through, and focus on the knowledge and
friendships gained – and be sure to attend one as soon as you can!

OK – I think I’ll wrap that there for now and sort the freebie I
wanted to pass on from one attendee. :)
And don’t forget to check the last few posts for even more valuable freebies!

Mike Spurgeon is a guy I met over the weekend who is a customer
of mine (A great way to introduce himself) ;)

During our conversation he mentioned a report he had that he
thought some of my readers may find useful:

(How to Stop Starting and) Make Money Internet Marketing
The secrets of planning and time management for profitable web marketing

Having had a quick read through the report, I’m inclined to agree.
(Some great content – and Mike has similar views about NOT buying stuff
unless it’s going to help you!)

What’s more – with no forced optin, it’s the quality of the content
that Mike is relying on to get you to visit his blog, and that impresses me :)

Just right click to save it or left click to read it online.
I hope you find it useful.

Think I’ll call it a day on this Ramble – so much to do and
so little time
(Well we still have to enjoy life – There are those
who ‘Live to Work’, and those who ‘Work to Live’ -
lets all try to make sure we know which we fall into, and do so by choice!)

I will be contacting some of the people, who have some great freebie
that I think you’ll appreciate, over the next few days or so …
So you can expect more good stuff to come that I think will help us all.

Meanwhile do look out for some products soon that will contain interviews
with some great guys – oh yeah …even little old me (they should be a laugh)
And be sure to check the last few posts for more great freebies :)

****As ever – only spend your ca$h on things that
WILL help you (Not the stuff that Might One Day!)****

Til next time
To You and Yours,

Here’s hoping you’re

    Hi Randy,

How I wish I had known of this event. I would have gone.

Bristol isn’t that hard to get to from where I am (and nearer than Northallerton…).

As you quite rightly say, it is a great investment of time to be able to meet up with people who are willing to help and share suggestions.

    Perhaps next time.

I’m glad that you are getting back to grips with things.

    Kind Regards,

    Gary

    Hi Randy,

I must get to one of these events on day.
I don’t think I could manage all the drinking though ;)

Any other events on this year?

    Thanks

    Keith

    There are other events on…

It’s just a case of trying to pick the good ones..

Martin Avis has his London Lunch every month which I’ve heard great feedback about and intend on going one day (I just don’t like going to London much!)

And naturally – there is our own Northallerton Meet Up ;)

I think a few of the guys are going to an event in September and I’ll post details once I have more of them – but it sounds like London again!!
