* A Duty To Help People…
I thought I’d write up my results from the IM Giveaway.
The main reason for doing so is to let everyone on my
list know exactly how it did…. That way you can make
a more informed decision whether to join in next time.
It also gives me the chance to explain why You may
want to build your own list…. and I’m not talking
about all the “Usual” reasons!
The thing is – I get emails all the time from people
wanting to build their lists… after all – don’t
we always hear terms like “The money is in the list”??
Now here’s a different slant on that…
It’s not just because you have a list of people who
may of may not buy products you are recommending.
And it’s not because “They Say” that each subscriber
is worth a dollar a month etc.
No – I think it’s important you have a mailing list
of your own for a very specific reason that is
totally NOT related to the above staements!
Here’s why I believe you need a list:
For the same reason I’m now writing this…
I’ve had a lovely holiday weekend with my family,
and I’ve done nothing in terms of my internet businesses!
I had a good month and my cheques are all cleared,
I have ca$h in my pocket and there is no school
for Cameron this week.
So the temptation for me is to just do nothing!
And that would be so easy to do – if I didn’t know
that there are people relying on me keeping them
informed and educated!
SO that is my main reason for having and growing my list!
IT KEEPS ME MOTIVATED!
Seriously – when you have a group of people desperately
wanting help and advice, how can you do nothing and let
them down?
These people have put their trust in you – they have
given their email in exchange for a freebie – yes.
But that email is a precious commodity that they’ve
trusted you with.
The choice is now to abuse it and attempt to make as
much as possible from it by pitching like crazy every
latest guru launch in the hope of big commissions….
OR
To genuinely try and help these people with whatever
knowledge you have, and realise that they won’t all
want help, they won’t all read your emails, and they
won’t all spend anything on any recommendations
you make…..
BUT…
If just one of two do listen… and if they act on
the information your give…
And if by doing so there is a direct result on their
level of success, and that has an impact on their
lives, and that of their families…..
Well isn’t that enough to make you feel like you have
a moral duty now?
And how good would it make you feel to know you have
made a difference to someones life?.. albeit a small
one – but what about the ripples?
Those small differences can go on to spread and affect
others too, and that’s what I’m talking about!
It all comes back to what Zig Ziglar said that is
quoted so often in any sales environment…
“You can have anything you want –
If you just help enough other people get what they want!”
So based on that understanding, the money will come if
we just focus on being genuine and helping where we can.
Therefore it matters not whether our open rates are small
Or whether the people only wanted the freebie….
What matters is that someone on that list of yours
wants help.
And even if it’s just one person – then they are the
reason you sit in front of the pc and write your emails.
Because by helping them you are helping yourself in the
long term.
So going back to what I was Rambling on about earlier -
I get motivated by the fact that I know some people are
relying on me doing my best to help them.
And because of that – they are helping me build my business
which in turn brings in the ca$h to allow me to have these
weekends with my family and not worry about the money
they are spending (well not too much…lol)

Has that given you food for thought?
Are you doing your best to help the people on your lists?
Whether you have 1 or 1000 doesn’t matter… what matters is
whether you’re helping yourself by helping them.
So while I’m here – I would like to say thank you
to everyone who is on my list, for being on my list,
and I truly hope that you benefit in some way or other.
(And if you’re not there is an opt in box top right 
)
I care not if you’re someone who never reads my emails
the simple fact that you’re on my list is enough to
force me to take action, and write my thoughts and
experiences down….. and that in turn helps me to
build and secure my online business.
I sincerley hope you’re getting yours built too…
And that you too enjoy the sense of satisfaction that
comes from helping others, knowing it’s also
helping yourself!
Anyhoo – Enough rambling – On with the results…

* Final GiveAway Results
I will be writing up a pdf with what I’ve
learnt and discovered about these giveaway
events, and I’m hoping it will help ‘normal’
people like you and I to use them to grow
our businesses….
But in the meantime, here’s how this latest one did.

Lets be honest – we all know it’s
easy for the gurus who have big lists of tens
of thousands to add many more thousands…
They just promote the event – get a few hunded
people to join and their gift stays on page one
where they then get a few more thousand added
to their lists….!

The giveaway ran for a week, and I had 6 people take my
recommendation to join as contributors, and 32
join as members wanting to grab some freebies.
So as you can see – No Guru type figures there 
I paid the $17 for the upgrade
This put my product in a rotator to be shown on
page 1 randomly with other upgraded members -
thereby gaining me more exposure that just being
on page 8 or 12 or where ever I ended up.
By the end of the event I had added another 326
people to my lists, Again – no guru figures -
but still nice for the sake of $17
(I doubt adwords or the like would have that
many hits & signups for $17)
That said – now that the event is over, I have also
been paid for upgrades from my link.
And I’m pleased to say I was paid more than double my
fee.. A total of $39
Again – no guru figures – but in terms of my efforts
it means I’ve added over 300 subscribers AND made a
profit of $22
So even the gurus would have to admit that it’s a
positive result, don’t you think?
(Or maybe not as some of them only wnat to know if
things will make them $’000′s…lol)
As far as I’m concerened though it’s a great result!
Now I have even more pople to answer to.
So I have to get my backside into gear and help
where I can.
And trust me when I tell you – the money is great.
BUT – there is real satifaction in hearing that
someone who is on your subscriber list has done
well for themselves!
Like for example the 6 who joined this last
event as contributors.
Although I haven’t heard back from all of
them yet, I will add their results to my
as soon as I have them.
But here is how Omar and James did…

got 232 new subscribers to his list,
downloaded $500 worth of products to help his
future business and made a net profit from
the giveaway of $20.
Imagine that – being paid $20 to add over
200 names to a new mailing list….lol

got as astounding 466 new subscr’ibers to his
brand new list.
And to quote James

For those interested in following along to see if
it’s worth taking part in JV Giveaways, I thought
I’d post my results so far for your consideration:
Since friday I have added people to my list daily
Here are the numbers:
Friday – 70
Saturday – 33
Sunday – 47
Monday – 30
Tuesday – 24
Wednesday – 20
(Typically my site was down for half a day -
so I will have missed a good few too!)
Still, that’s 224 new subscribers so far
And the giveaway runs til Friday – so plenty of time to
increase on that figure as most Partners will be giving it one
last push.
Quite honestly, for the $17 it cost me to be on the random
rotation, I do feel I’ve had excellent value.
Bear in mind that on the last giveway (easter) I made a

* A Ramble about your friends…
Okay, it’s time I did one of my famous Rambles.
I wanted to touch on the subject of your friends,
the people You hang around with.
Do they help you?
Do they encourage you?
Do they support you?
I’m not about to criticise your choice in friends, however,
I would like to encourage you to keep making new friends.
You’ll probably read in many places that we become
more like the people we have around with.
Success experts will also tell you that you can model
successful people, in order to improve your own chances
of success.
What it basically boils down to is that the more
successful people You interact with on a regular basis,
the more of their attitudes You’ll find yourself adopting..
As this happens you’ll find that you also become more
successful yourself.
I’ve seen this happen so many time (not that I’m one for
spending forever trying to explain it…lol – I’ll leave
that to the psychologists!)
So how do you go about doing this online?
By becoming active in forums, by asking questions,
by answering questions when you can, and generally
becoming more visible to the people who are successful.
That’s one way that I’ve managed to make friends with some
very successful people, and you know what, it does rub off.
It’s only recently that I’ve been giving this some thought,
and it reminded me of my selling days.
It made me wonder whether the fact that I was always within
the top three sales people was a reflection of the fact that
I used to hang around with the top three for sales people.
And could it be coincidence that those at the bottom of the
sales chart, Also all seemed to hang around together?
Have a think about your own circumstances, whether they
be social, business, the day job or any other situation you
can think of.
Do you noticed similarities?
And if you do, is it time you gave thought to who you hang
around with online question.
I honestly believe if you stay sitting on the sidelines, that
it will take much longer to achieve the levels of success
you’re looking for.
So jump in and get involved, whereever it is you like
to hang around.
Just try to make sure it’s a successful place.
As the saying goes:
Success breeds Success.

* John’s Re-launch
Speaking of success, one of my favourite marketers
John Thornhill, has just relaunched his flagship site.
John ranks right in the very top few of my all-time
favourite marketers for a few specific reasons…
Firstly he’s real, a family guy who happens to make
a substantial income online.
Secondly, he really does help people.
I know – because he has genuinely helped in the past.
I’m also on great terms with others he has also helped.
Thirdly, he listens to his subscribers
(which can’t be said of all successful marketer’s)
I to know some marketers who, once they made it,
seemed to drop the people who raised them to their levels,
and refocused on mingling with the big boys.
…But Not John!
He happily keeps mingling with everyone and anyone who is
genuinely trying, – big or small!
Anyway, if you hadn’t gathered,
I’m mentioning John because of his relaunch.
Frankly, I have so much respect for John and I would have
liked to devote an entire page just to promote John’s
products…
But again I’d like to stress that I say that not
just because I owe John (which I freely admit I do)
But also because I think John can help you too.
Chances are, many people on my mailing
lists are already members of one or more of John sites.
So this is for you, if you are not?
His relaunch is for the site that has the private forum
membership included…
The one that really got me making money back in 2005!
On Tuesday it will cost $167 !
But as of right now anyone who is not a member can
join for just $67
Let me tell you, the recent activity in the
forum is manic, to say the least.
Every member is so totally and utterly impressed with the
sheer scope of the changes John has made.
The whole package is really so impressive that I urge you
to take a look. I really couldn’t do it justice trying to

This post is basically just for those who are ready to add
to their own mailing lists.
If you have an aweber (or other autoresponder), and
a gift to give to attract subscribers… Then do take
a look.
Also – if you haven’t seen my post about the results I got
from the Easter Giveaway…. read it and condsider if you
think it might get you the start or boost you need.

OK – so here we are with another one getting ready.
It launches in a few days, so there is not much
time to get set up
I’m being realistic when I say I expect around 500 more
people to join my list (not the 5000 quoted by the
organiser…lol)
The promotion will have over 200,000 visitors in
just a few days. So the exposure will be great.
Reed Floren, the promoter, has asked me if I knew anyone
that would want to participate in this venture…
He already has 700 JV partners on board – so I think it
will be well worth a go.

I do strongly suggest paying the $17 upgrade as that will ensure
your best chance of success… but as always -

Here is something for those who are more serious about their business.
(And I mean no disrespect with that statement)
I know different people fall into different categories.
Some have more time than others and some have a better
budget than others to invest in their business.
I’m not going to try and tell you which category you
should fall into, that’s down to your own circumstances!
That said I don’t think I would be doing you justice if I
didn’t pass on my thoughts and recommendations of products
that I firmly believe will help you.
And if you’ve been with me for a while, you’ll know
I rarely promote higher priced products.
Mainly because I usually find a cheaper alternative
that is very similar, and because I’ve been in the
situation of needing to learn but not being able to
invest what I would like to.
Anyway – before this becomes too much of a ‘Ramble’, here’s
what I invite you to take a look at…
It’s the business building strategies e-course> and it’s
quite (scratch that -> VERY) impressive.
It’s a combined effort of 50 of the internet’s top
level entrepreneurs.
Each one shares how they made it to the top of the
heap and how they continue to grow their business
and generate very sizeable incomes.
There are a couple of things I like and I think
you’ll like about this course.
One is that I trust Terry who has put it together
(I met him at britpack and hit it off immediately,
he’s knowledgable, but not up his own …ego…)
What you might think is great is this:
Instead of paying each different marketer $47 – $97
for their take on things, Terry has packaged them all
together in a major package.
I like this because quite honestly – I don’t relate to every teacher
I come across (and sometimes feel I’ve wasted my ca$h).
And I’m sure the same has happened to you?
Add to that the fact that I may learn a few things
from one person… and then need more info from
another – when they’re all in one package it’s so much
easier to find what I need….
PLUS it works out so much cheaper…lol
You can pick an instructor and follow their exact
steps to earn your living online. Or, if you prefer,
use their strategies to make a very substantial part-time
income.
Whichever road you choose, this course will help you
achieve your financial goals.
And for the best part, and reason why I’ve been chatting
to Terry for a couple of weeks about this…
It was a CD collection selling for $497
(Yep – too steep for me…lol)
But Terry has now made it available as a downloadable package!
(We can always burn each one onto disc ourselves can’t we ..hehe)
Long story short, You can now get your hands
on 50 of the internet’s top level entrepreneurs, and study their
techniques and knowledge at your leisure for less than a hundred bucks!
That’s like getting hours of advice from each for less than $2 a piece…lol
